DeGolyer's View by Vonnie Kohn, yellow rose trellis, architecture, oil painting

Oil on Canvas
11 x 14

This painting is currently in a show at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Tx during the months of November-December. It is also available as a giclee (prints) & as greeting cards. I went to the Dallas Arboretum last year for a plein air painting session & was captivated by the blue grill window that is on the front of a mansion on the site of the gardens. This mansion was known as the DeGolyer home which sat on more than 60 acres of beautiful gardens. When the land & home became available, the city of Dallas assumed the role of caretaker. This climbing yellow rose trellis is but one of many hundreds of varieties of botanicals grown in this beautiful arboretum.
