My latest abstract painting on canvas seemed too monochrome to me. I didn't want to add a lot of color because I felt that doing so would lose the free textural sense already there. So I used pale washes of blue, alizarin crimson, burnt umber, and yellow-orange. I also punched up the white and titanium, and added some yellow lines, feathering and spreading them with a brush. After that, I added more emphasis to some of the colored sections by outlining them in black lines.
